Court fee increases announced today will take effect on 1 August 2011
A number of Regulations were made today that affect the fees payable in Supreme Court civil and criminal court proceedings.
These Regulations commence on Monday, 1 August 2011, and from this date certain court fees will increase.
The Court has updated its Forms and Fees page to reflect the new fees detailed in the Civil Procedure Amendment (Fees) Regulation 2011 and Succession Amendment (Will Deposit Fee) Regulation 2011.
The Criminal Procedure Amendment (Fees) Regulation 2011 also commenced on 1 August 2011, and makes changes to the fees payable in criminal proceedings.
These Regulations can all be read in full on the NSW Legislation website.
The Court will continue to accept payments by cheque under the previous fee regime if the cheque was drawn on 1 August 2011, or earlier. However, for payments made by cash or credit card, the new fee will apply on and from 1 August 2011.
