Applications in the Professional Negligence List of the Common Law Division
Notice to Practitioners.
Applications in the Professional Negligence List of the Common Law Division are listed on the first Friday of the month.
From 4 July 2003, applications in this list will be listed before a Registrar at 9am. Practitioners who currently have matters listed at 10am will be shortly advised by the registry of the relisting of the matter to 9am.
At 9am, the Registrar will callover the list. The Registrar will consider uncontested adjournment applications.
The Registrar will also be available to make orders by consent of all parties.
Where an application is to proceed on the day, the Registrar will require the following information:
- whether there is any reason for priority (eg interstate or country witnesses etc) ; and
- an estimate of the time required to hear the application.
To facilitate the running of the list, I strongly encourage practitioners to bring their consent applications before the Registrar at 9am.
