There is a new courtroom dedicated to bail hearings.

Court 1 in the King Street Complex on the corner of King and Elizabeth Streets is the new venue for bail hearings. Bail applications that were previously heard in Court 1A in the Law Courts Building are now heard in Court 1 King Street. You can access Court 1 from the main entry to the Complex on King Street.

Court 1 has been renovated to meet the needs of court users more effectively than Court 1A. In particular, Court 1offers improved security features and is accessible to court users with impaired mobility.

Court 1A will still be used from time to time in the future, but for civil hearings only.
