JP in the civil registry daily to witness documents

Date:
08/29/2006

A Justice of the Peace (JP) is available each day from 10am until 2pm to witness documents of all types. The JP is located in a small office in the civil registry waiting area, next to the Duty Registrar. The service is entirely free and aims to reduce waiting times at the Counter by allowing clerks to focus their energies on filing and answering enquiries, rather than witnessing documents. You do not need to take a ticket for this service, but are asked to remain seated in the registry waiting area until the JP is free and the last person has vacated the office.

This scheme operates solely through volunteers and the service could not be provided without support from the New South Wales Justices' Association. The Court gratefully acknowledges the Association, particularly those members who willingly contribute their time to assist the Supreme Court registry each day.
