Update: Court sittings during World Youth Day celebrations on 17 July 2008

Date:
05/07/2008

    Due to CBD road closures, the Supreme Court will assist Corrective Services on Thursday 17 July 2008 by not conducting:
    • criminal trials, except where a jury is deliberating;
    • CCA hearings where appellants are to be present in Court
    • civil hearings where a person in custody is required to appear.

    Bail video link and all other civil hearings will proceed as normal on 17 July 2008.

    As previously advised, the court's operating hours (9am to 5pm) will remain unchanged throughout World Youth Day celebrations from 14 -21 July 2008.

    Also, court sittings scheduled for 14,15,16, 18 or 21 July 2008 will be unaffected, although the Court is mindful that the timing of Police witness evidence may need to be adjusted due to Police's additional operational requirements during the celebrations.
