Announcement: Renovations to Registry Accommodation

Date:
07/04/2000

The Chief Executive Officer of the Supreme Court of NSW wishes to apologise for any inconvenience which may be experienced during the forthcoming renovations to level 5, Law Courts Building, Queens Square, Sydney. The areas occupied by the Supreme Court filing counter, exhibits, list office and records areas will be temporarily relocated over the coming months.

As a result of the renovations there may be some disruption to these service areas. We will, however, endeavour to ensure that any disturbance to registry operations and client service is kept to the minimum. The major change to level 5 will be the transfer of the counter/client services area from the Philip Street side of the building to the Macquarie Street side. As a result the counter area and waiting area will be reduced in size. The records area will also be reduced and may result in current files being stored in various locations at a greater distance from the registry area, with the result that delays may be experienced in retrieving files.

The renovations will continue to the first half of 2001. An improved counter and client services area will result. Your forbearance in the intervening period is appreciated.
