Forum on the Operation of SC Eq 11 - Disclosure in the Equity Division
The Supreme Court of NSW invites interested members of the legal profession to attend a forum on the operation of its landmark Practice Note concerning disclosure of documents in the Equity Division.
The forum will be hosted by the Honourable TF Bathurst, Chief Justice of NSW; the Honourable Justice Patricia Bergin, Chief Judge in Equity; the Honourable Justice Paul Brereton, and the Honourable Justice David Hammerschlag.
Practitioners who attend this event can expect to receive a unique insight into:
- why the Court felt this aspect of litigation was ripe for reform;
- how the Court developed the practices enshrined in the new Note;
- how the Court anticipates the new practices will promote efficient and less costly resolution of disputes, and
- how the Court expects the legal profession will respond to the new Note by re-considering traditional approaches to disclosure.
