CHIEF JUSTICE BATHURST ESTABLISHES REAL PROPERTY LIST IN THE EQUITY DIVISION OF THE SUPREME COURT OF NSW
After wide consultation Chief Justice Bathurst has announced the establishment of the Real Property List in the Equity Division of the Supreme Court to operate from 1 June 2015.
The Chief Justice has designated Justice Rowan Darke, a Judge of the Equity Division, to be the List Judge of the Real Property List.
The establishment of the Real Property List coincides with a booming property market and a changing property landscape. This includes increases in apartment dwelling in the major cities and suburbs of the State and greater need for and establishment of aged care facilities. It also coincides with recent legislative reforms governing the operation and management of owners’ corporations.
Practice Note SC Eq 12 Real Property List (a copy of which is attached) governs the administration of the Property List to facilitate the prompt and cost efficient resolution of all Real Property Matters.

Current matters falling within the definition of paragraph 3 of the Practice Note, will be transferred into the List and parties will be notified accordingly.
