The Supreme Court Rule Committee made the following rules of court under the
Supreme Court Act 1970 on 21 November 2005.

Explanatory note
The object of these Rules is to omit Part 67 (Defamation) of the Supreme Court Rules 1970
as a consequence of rules of court for defamation proceedings being included in the Uniform
Civil Procedure Rules 2005.

1 Name of Rules
These Rules are the Supreme Court Rules (Amendment No 408) 2005.

2 Commencement
These Rules commence on 1 January 2006.

3 Amendment of Supreme Court Rules 1970
The Supreme Court Rules 1970 are amended as set out in Schedule 1.
