The Youth Justice Advisory Committee (YJAC) was responsible for advising the Attorney General, relevant Ministers and Director Generals on the operation of the Young Offenders Act 1997. It provided advice on Regulations; guidelines for conferences; selection, training and appointment of convenors; and monitoring and review of the Act.
On 1 September 2004 the Young Offenders Regulation 1997 was repealed resulting in the wrap-up of the Committee.
