Schedule of Injuries and Guide
What is the Schedule of Injuries?
The Victims Support and Rehabilitation Act 1996 provides for the payment of statutory compensation for injury received as a direct result of an act of violence according to a schedule of injuries. The Schedule of Injuries is a list of the injuries for which you may receive compensation through the Victims Support and Rehabilitation Act 1996. The Schedule of Injuries lists the amounts of compensation payable for each of the injuries. In general, you will not receive an award of compensation for injuries that do not appear in the Schedule of Injuries. For example, bruising and lacerations are not injuries listed in the Schedule.
Special note:- application for compensation by family members of a deceased victim do not need to refer to the Schedule of Injuries. Injury does not have to be proved by such applicants.
