Applications for funding under the Families & Friends of Missing Persons Support Fund are invited from eligible incorporated non-profit organisations relevant to families and friends of missing persons.
Funding is currently available for resources and ‘one off’ projects which are not recurrent.

Counselling and Support Service
The Families and Friends of Missing Persons Unit provide a free and confidential counselling service.
The service provided includes:
· Support at time of crisis
· Emotional support
· Family reunion work when the missing person has been located and wishes to be reunited with family members
· Support for families of long term missing
· Telephone counselling and support
· Liaison and referral
· Strategies to cope with issues such as difficulty sleeping, working, and family conflict
· Information on legal issues and search agencies
When a family member or friend goes missing, counselling can allow you to:
· Talk about what happened
· Find ways to cope
· Assist you to identify both the practical and emotional supports you may need

Wallet Cards - providing families with information to assist with random and unpredicted reactions when reminded of their missing loved one.
Someone Missing - Can the Media Help You? - a pamplet providing information about using the media to help locate missing persons.
