Top Tips - Threshold
On 14 July, 2000, the 'threshold' amount of compensation was raised from $2,400 to $7,500.
This means that for applications lodged on or after 14 July 2000 it is very important to check that the total compensation for injury that is being claimed exceeds $7,500 - if it doesn't, then the claim will be dismissed.
You can check the amount of compensation for each injury by going to the Schedule of Injuries. The full amount of the Schedule is paid for the most serious injury, 10% for the second and 5% for the third. Compensation is not paid for any further injuries.
Remember that expenses are not included in calculating the threshold amount.
