| In June 2001, the Families and Friends of Missing Persons Unit contracted the Hunter Institute of Mental Health to investigate and report on best practice model/s relevant to families and friends of missing persons.
As a result of this process, the report "It's the Hope that Hurts" - Best Practice in Counselling Models Relevant to Families and Friends of Missing Persons.
