ARWs - Frequently Asked Questions - Further Information

Legislation

Clause 5 of the Schedule of Injuries is the provision of the Act that requires a claim for Psychological and Psychiatric Disorder to be accompanied by an ARW report. Restrictions on category 1 and the relevant categories of the injury are also contained in the Schedule of Injuries. Select this link to view the Schedule of Injuries.

Applying to be an Authorised Report Writer

An ARW is required either to be a currently registered clinical psychologist, or a psychiatrist who is a member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). An ARW must have demonstrated report writing skills and submit an application to the Director.
