Welcome to the Victims Services website

Victims Services is part of the Department of Attorney General and Justice in New South Wales.

We provide support and information for victims of crime in New South Wales.

On this website you will find information about how to access counselling, compensation and victims rights.

The Justice Journey section of this website helps victims of crime navigate their way through the justice process including what to do when a crime is committed, reporting crime and going to court as a witness.

Important changes:

New legislation in relation to victims support was introduced into Parliament on Tuesday 7 May 2013.

Until this Bill is passed we are unable to accept or process any new applications for financial assistance or accept any new applications for compensation.

We will make further announcements as more information is available.

If it is an emergency, or you need counselling or advice please call the
Victims Access Line on 1800 633 063 or fill in the Online Enquiry Form (PDF 127KB)
