I have pleasure in presenting the annual report of the New South Wales Attorney General’s Department for the year 1998-99.

The report has been prepared in accordance with the Annual Reports (Departments) Act 1985 and the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983 for presentation to Parliament.

Significant progress has been made this year in a number of key areas, including reducing delays in the courts, increasing the accessibility of the justice system and improving client service. The support of staff and the judiciary has been integral to these achievements.
