Practice Note No. 93

REPEALED - Equity Division

Date:
06/18/1997

    PRACTICE NOTE No 93

    EQUITY DIVISION

    Pro Bono Cases

    In any case where:

        (a) a legal practitioner is appearing as advocate for a party without fee;

        (b) the hearing of the case is likely to conclude within one day; and
    (c) it is otherwise appropriate for a hearing date to be fixed,

    application may be made to an expedition Judge to fix a hearing date, in lieu of the case being placed in the Short Notice List.

    This procedure is intended to avoid practical difficulties in changing advocates at short notice in cases accepted on a pro bono basis which would otherwise be suitable for inclusion in the Short Notice List.

    Chief Justice
