Longer than advertised delays in probate grants

    The current delay on receiving a grant of probate is significantly longer than the advertised 5-day waiting time. Unfortunately, a large number of unexpected staff absences through illness over the last month has reduced the Court's ability to meet its processing targets. Clients are advised that the current waiting time on a grant of probate is between 4 to 5 weeks from the date of filing.

    The Court is re-allocating resources from other areas of its registry in an effort to reduce the current delays and meet its advertised standard.

    The Court sincerely apologises for any inconvenience experienced as a reasult of these regrettable, yet unavoidable, delays.

    A progress update will be posted to this website in two weeks' time.
