Civil registry delays expected on 30 - 31/12/08

Date:
12/17/2008

The Court’s electronic civil case database will be unavailable for two days on 30 and 31 December 2008. This shutdown will allow essential maintenance to be performed.

While the civil registry will remain open and documents can still be filed, we expect clients will experience longer delays while waiting for assistance from registry staff. Without

access to the database, staff will need to retrieve and check physical court files to answer any queries about specific cases (e.g. to confirm previous orders made, or future
listing dates). Unfortunately, as staff will need more time to locate answers to enquiries, client waiting times will increase.

Also, civil registry users should note that the search terminals in the level 5 registry will be unavailable on both 30 and 31 December 2008. If a search must be performed
urgently, staff will assist by providing access to hard copy registers in which cases are alphabetically indexed.

The shutdown of the case database will also affect the printing of probate grants and letters of administration. The Court will be unable to print these documents during the shutdown.

The Court apologises in advance for any inconvenience caused by the unavailability of the civil case database. All civil registry operations will resume as normal on 2 January 2009
