Launch of the new Supreme Court website

Date:
10/19/2012

On Thursday, 25 October 2012, the Court will launch its new website.

The new website includes all of the information on the Court’s current site. However, the existing content has been updated and revised, and some pages have been moved in accordance with the improved menu options available on the new site. There are also some new areas of content that the Court expects users will find helpful.

The menu options available on the new website will be:

About Us (this menu option includes similar content to the existing site, but now also includes information on Employment Opportunities at the Court)

Practice & Procedure (this menu option includes similar content to the existing site)

Forms & Fees (the content within this menu option has been significantly re-structured, and will also include Frequently Asked Questions about Forms & Fees; an A-Z index of all Forms available on the Court’s website will soon be added to this section)

Facilities & Support (this is a new menu option that draws together information regarding: access to Court facilities; available courtroom technology; court security; information for victims of/witnesses to a crime; interpreter and translation services; library services; meeting room hire; sources of legal advice, information and pro bono legal assistance, and general information aimed at assisting people directly involved in a court case)

Publications (this menu option will include Annual Reviews, judicial speeches, and will also include a link to Practice Notes)

Contact Us (this menu option includes similar content to the existing site, but will also feature new email address options for contacting different sections within the Registry, and information on how to correctly address a judicial officer in correspondence and conversation)

Probate (this is a new menu option that draws together available information on applying for probate and letters of administration)

Court lists (this menu option features similar content to the existing site)

Transcripts (this menu option features similar content to the existing site)

Judgments (this menu option features similar content to the existing site)

Jury Service (this is a new menu option that directs clients to information the Officer of the Sheriff of NSW has developed to help people summoned for jury service, or those who have completed service on a jury).

These new menu options were specifically selected to reflect the pages and topic areas most frequently searched and accessed on the existing site and should make navigation of the website quicker and easier.

The launch of the Court’s new website will also be accompanied by a change in the Court’s URL. The new URL for the Court’s homepage will be: www.supremecourt.lawlink.nsw.gov.au*

If you have the current homepage URL (www.lawlink.nsw.gov.au/sc) saved as a Favourite in your web browser, you will automatically be re-directed to the new homepage URL.

If you have a specific page within the Court’s current website saved as a Favourite, in most cases, you will also be automatically re-directed to the new URL for the homepage until you locate the page in the new menu structure and update your bookmarks.

*Court users should note that this URL will only become active on the new site's launch date, Thursday, 25 October 2012
