New Website for Victims of Sexual Assault
Information to help victims of sexual assault better understand the justice system and so encourage them to report sexual offences to police, is available at a new website www.sexualassault.nsw.gov.au. The site explains what happens from the point of reporting, including how the police investigate and collect evidence, services that provide support to victims, and the court process. The NSW Attorney General John Hatzistergos has issued a media release about the new site.

Authorised Report Writer (ARW) Nominations
Victims Services has changed the way that Authorised Report Writers are allocated for all applications where compensation is claimed for a psychological injury.
This change was developed in consultation with the Professional Advisory Panel to improve the ARW approval process and provide a more independent and equitable service.
As of 1 July 2009, Victims Services will allocate report writers from the list held by the Director.
