Interagency Committee
The Victims of Crime Bureau convenes an interagency committee comprising representatives of a range of government and community agencies that provide services to, and/or referral and education about services to victims of crime.
The primary objectives of the interagency committee are to provide a forum:
- to discuss and monitor implementation of the Charter of Victims Rights;
- to facilitate a 'whole of government' approach to the delivery of services to victims of crime;
- to exchange information about services relevant to victims of crime;
- for consultation about specific operational issues relating to services to victims of crime.
The following agencies are represented on the interagency: Victims Services; Aboriginal Justice Advisory Council; Centre for Mental Health; Child and Adolescent Sexual Assault Counsellors Network (CASAC) Inc.; Community Relations Commission for a Multicultural NSW; Crime Prevention Unit; Department of Aboriginal Affairs; Department of Ageing, Disability & Home Care; Department of Corrective Services; Department of Education & Training; Department of Health; Department of Juvenile Justice; District Court of NSW; Enough is Enough; Homicide Victims Support Group; LawAccess; Lesbian & Gay Anti-Violence Project; Local Courts; Manly/Warringah Women's Resource Centre; Mission Australia - Victim Support Service; Mission Australia - Crime Support Service; NSW Police; Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions; Supreme Court; Victims of Crime Assistance League - Hunter (VOCAL); Violence Against Women Specialist Unit, NSW Attorney General's Department; Women's Incest Survivors Network (WISN); Youth Action Policy Association (YAPA).
