Hobart Volunteer Court Support Scheme can provide assistance to victims attending court in Hobart, Tasmania.

Legal Assistance

The Legal Aid Commision of Tasmania website provides information on their services including:

    • Factsheets (including Criminal Injuries Compensation and Victims Assistance Unit)
    • Referral List
For The Telephone Advice Service phone 1300 366 611 - Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm (cost of local call).

Community Legal Centres are independent community organisations providing free legal services including advice and information. Most Centres provide face-to-face legal advice as well as information over the phone. Many Centres hold daytime and evening interview and advice sessions.

The Law Society of Tasmania website has an online search facility for locating contact details of law firms.

Other Assistance

Lifeline offers assistance to victims of crime, including personal support, counselling, information and referrals to resources in the community. You can call 1300 300 238 to be directed to your nearest Victims of Crime Service in Tasmania or email vocso@bigpond.com
