The new Negotiating Consent Resource Kit has been developed by the NSW Strategy to Reduce Violence Against Women to target the state’s highest risk age groups for date rape: 15 – 25 year olds.
The Negotiating Consent resource Kit has been designed for teachers and facilitators in New South Wales to discuss safer sexual relationships, negotiating consent and date rape, with young people from Year 9 and up.
The materials will support school programs in Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE).
The Violence Against Women Specialist Unit (VAWSU), which implements the Strategy, has developed the package in partnership with organisations such as; the Department of Education and Training, Education Centre Against Violence, NSW Rape Crisis, Central and Eastern Sexual Assault Service and the NSW Commission for Children and Young People.
