Domestic violence background reading

A useful starting point for background reading is the Australian Domestic and Family Violence Clearinghouse.
It is on the Internet at:
The role of the Clearinghouse is to:
    • provide a central point for the collection and dissemination of Australian domestic and family violence policy, practice and research.
    • provide information on international efforts to end these forms of violence.

The Clearinghouse aims to meet the information needs of government agencies, generalist and specialist service providers, researchers and interested members of the public.
    The Clearinghouse:
    • Produces quarterly newsletters and issue papers
    • Has two searchable databases - research and resources, and good practice are now available.
    • Has a library/information service - the Clearinghouse will assist with locating information about all aspects of domestic and family violence.
    • Will identify gaps in available information and has the capacity to undertake original research.
