The Queensland Legal Services Commission is an independent body who investigates complaints and initiates disciplinary action (where necessary) against legal practitioners in Queensland.

Victoria
The Legal Services Commissioner receives and investigates complaints about legal practitioners in Victoria.

Western Australia
The Legal Practitioners Complaint Committee is an independent office that investigates complaints about legal practitioners in Western Australia. Their email address is lpcc@bigpond.com.au

South Australia
The Legal Practitioners Conduct Board of SA investigates complaints about legal practitioners in South Australia.

Tasmania
The Law Society of Tasmania investigates and prosecutes complaints about lawyers in Tasmania.

Australian Capital Territory
The Law Society of the ACT investigates complaints about solicitors and takes disciplinary action where the standards set by law or the rulings of the Society are not met.

Northern Territory
The Law Society of the Northern Territory investigates complaints about lawyers and refers the serious matters to the Legal Practitioners’ Complaints Committee.
