Examination Format & Permitted Materials
Please refer to each subject listed below for the format of the exam paper and any materials permitted for use. Do not assume that the format or materials which were permitted in the previous semester's exams will be the same as for the current semester. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Standing Instructions
- No calculators, laptops, electronic organisers, mobile phones or other electronic devices are permitted in any exam.
- Examinations will either be 'Open' (usually any printed, photocopied, downloaded or handwritten material) or 'Closed' book (no materials permitted). Students must refer to the cover pages posted below for specific information re permitted material.
- Materials taken into an open book exam may be annotated, underlined, highlighted and flagged in any way.
- Candidates will not be allowed to share permitted materials.
- Students must present appropriate photo identification at the exam venue. Your library card will be sufficient; however a current drivers licence, passport or proof of age card is also acceptable. Students without appropriate ID will NOT be permitted to sit an exam.
- Exams are to be written in pen, not pencil. Make sure you bring spare pens to the exam centre.
- Students may not consume fruit, biscuits, soft drinks or food generally. A bottle of water in a clear container and small sweets are permitted. A small fruit juice may be taken in by diabetics.
- Plan your travel arrangements so that you arrive at your exam centre at least 20 minutes prior to the commencement of the exam and in time to hear the pre-exam announcements.
