English Language Proficiency Requirements

As part of the reforms agreed to by all Australian Admitting Authorities, as from 1 July 2008 applicants for admission that do not meet the criteria for exemption will be required to demonstrate English language proficiency. Applicants will be required to take the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test unless they satisfy certain criteria i.e.have attained a Law Degree or Diploma in Law in Australia. IELTS is offered in over 121 countries, there are currently 29 locations in Australia where IELTS can be taken. Please refer to the IELTS website for more information on the location of test centres, costs and scheduled test dates.
