Services

The key function of the Office of the Sheriff is to provide for the security and enforcement operations across all New South Wales courts. Which office will provide the enforcement action depends on the suburb at which the enforcement is. The Office of the Sheriff also provides administration of Jury services and other court administration services to the Supreme and District Courts.

Sheriff's Officers in New South Wales are responsible for

  • Court security
  • Judicial Security
  • Enforcement of court documents and processes including service of Family law documents
  • Enforcement of Writs for the Levy of Property, Property Seizure Orders, Writs/Warrants of Possession (Evictions), Warrants of Apprehension and the Auction of Goods and Chattels. For information on the status of a Writ of Possession ring 02 868 87263 or if you know the suburb use our distribution list to contact the office that is handling enforcement action
  • Management of the Jury System
