Billing information
Core legal work
Billing arrangements
In core legal work that is covered by the core legal fund, the Crown Solicitor’s Office will submit invoices to client agencies for certification.
The client should check each bill carefully to ensure their matter has been billed appropriately.
Once the client has certified and returned the bill, the Crown Solicitor’s Office will submit the invoice to the Director General of the Attorney General’s Department for payment from the core legal fund.
Disputes over billing
Clients should check each bill carefully to ensure the matter has been billed appropriately.
Where a client feels they have not been billed appropriately by the Crown Solicitor’s Office, the client should raise the issue with the relevant lawyer, or their supervisor. If the client is not satisfied with the response, they should raise the issue with the Director General of the Attorney General’s Department.
