E-Court

What is e-Court?
As part of its LEC On Line strategy the Court implemented a new computer system called e-Court in November 2002. The objective of e-Court and other LEC On Line projects is to improve the services available to litigants and their representatives. E-Court enables parties in class 1-4 matters to:
- Initiate proceedings on line (using the internet);
- Lodge documents on line;
- Obtain hearing dates and adjournments through e-Court's e-Callover facility;
- Use the internet to check the record of activity in their matters; and
- Access any documents that were filed on line.
One particular benefit of the e-Court system is that it has a "public user" facility. If a Council chooses to become a public user, all new applications to the Court where that Council is a respondent will be electronically served by the Court on the Council. E-Court offers a high level of security and only parties can access e-Court matters.
