Dispute Resolution

Mediation icon

Once proceedings have been commenced in the Land and Environment Court, there are a number of different ways that the parties can have the proceedings resolved:

    • Conciliation (also known as a section 34 conference)
    • Mediation
    • Neutral Evaluation
    • Hearing, which can be conducted as either a court hearing or an on-site hearing.

Conciliation, mediation and neutral evaluation are methods of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). ADR refers to a process in which an impartial person assists the parties to resolve the issues between them. Use the links below to obtain more information on ADR.
