Announcement - Further Rulings on Practice Direction No. 17

This Practice Direction became effective from 9th January 2006. The practice direction sets out a case management regime that is designed to ensure that unfair dismissal matters are brought before the Commission expeditiously.
A number of applications have come before the Commission where parties have sought to vary directions (paragraph 12), have failed to comply with directions or where a party was seeking the vacation of the hearing date (paragraph 13). A number of published decisions were the subject of an Announcement on 28 February 2006.
