Introduction to Transport Appeal Boards (TAB)
The Transport Appeal Boards (TAB) are independent bodies established under the Transport Appeal Boards Act 1980.
They are empowered to hear and determine appeals to dismiss or otherwise discipline employees of NSW public sector transport authorities.
They also determine appeals against decisions to promote other employees to vacant positions. The Boards will determine which employee is most entitled to the appointment.
When hearing an appeal a Board consists of either the President of the NSW Industrial Relations Commission or another member to whom the President has delegated this function.
