The Department of Justice and Attorney General is trialling the use of SMS to remind JPs to update their contact details.

The trial involves only those JPs who have provided the Department with their mobile telephone numbers and whose term of appointment is due to expire within six months.

The text message being sent via SMS reads as follows:

‘Dear JP, your term expires soon. To ensure you receive your reappointment application form, please update your email & postal addresses at www.jp.nsw.gov.au’
