Local Government Crime Prevention

In accordance with the Children (Protection and Parental Responsibility) Act 1997, the Department of Justice and Attorney General supports local councils as lead agencies for identifying and implementing local crime prevention strategies in NSW. Such strategies may be submitted to the Department for endorsement and possible funding. There are 152 Local Government Areas (councils) in NSW. To help them develop crime prevention strategies, we have produced a series of resources, which are available on the Preventing crimewebsite: www.crimeprevention.nsw.gov.au
