GLBT Committees
The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) Liaison Unit of the Crime Prevention Division convenes two committees to support the work in this area and to facilitate a collaborative whole of government response to violence against GLBT people in NSW.
A community based advisory committee comprising representatives from key GLBT agencies and an Indigenous representative meets four times per year to discuss and provide advice on issues relating to law reform and violence.
A government forum - the Network of Government Agencies GLBT Issues - includes up to twenty Government representatives. This committee also meets four times per year.
Two of these meetings are combined meetings to facilitate effective communication between the committees.
