Bus travel is not advisable as buses passing through Port Kembla shopping centre run only every 1-2 hours. If persons wish to travel by bus, they will have to get off at Warrawong Shopping Centre and then walk to Court (Approximately 20-30 minute walk)

Types of Work:	Monday is a children's criminal list day & short defended hearings; Friday is a care list day & short defended hearings; Wednesday of weeks 1 & 3 are defended hearings (from the 10/1/05), Thursday of weeks 2 & 4 are defended hearings (could be criminal or care).

Care Matters:	Care matters are usually listed on Fridays, however, applications for Emergency Care and Protection Orders will be considered by a Magistrate on Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays when court is sitting
Department of Community Services Offices:	Shellharbour CSC, Wollongong CSC, and Corrimal CSC. Emergency Care and Protection applications are also accepted on occasions from Nowra CSC
Legal Representation for children and parents	Children's Criminal matters: Two duty solicitors in private practice and funded by the Legal Aid Commission are rostered on to represent children, a solicitor is also available from the Aboriginal Legal Service Children's Care matters: Two duty solicitors in private practice and funded by the Legal Aid Commission are rostered on to represent children and parents
Court Support:	The Children's Court Assistance Scheme, funded by the Illawarra Legal Centre, Warrawong operates each Monday. The scheme aims to increase access to and participation in the legal system for young persons appearing on criminal charges and / or AVO matters, as well as to contribute to the smooth running of the court system
Local Court:	Thursdays of weeks 1 & 3 are criminal list days, Wednesdays of weeks 2 & 4 are designated AVO days.

Support Services:	Anglican Church provides a roster of "mothers" to attend court on the children's court list days (Mondays and Fridays) to provide tea/coffee/biscuits for clients.
