* These Local Government Areas have a population of less than 3,000. Comparisons of recorded crime rates across Local Government Areas are sensitive to small population sizes. Crime rates in areas with populations under 3,000 may be unreliable and should be interpreted with caution.
^ Rate calculations do not adjust for the number of people who visit an area. Rates in Sydney LGA should not be compared with other LGAs because the resident population is very low relative to the population who visit the LGA each year.
**Some Local Government Area boundaries do not match exactly with Statistical Subdivision boundaries. Where an LGA crosses SSD boundaries, the LGA has been listed under the SSD where the majority of the people in the LGA live. For this reason, SSD total crime numbers and rates may not be the sum of all LGAs listed below them.
