INSTRUCTIONS These guidelines have been produced by the Anti-Discrimination Board of NSW (ADB) and the Australian Hotels Association (NSW) (AHA (NSW)). They explain the rights and responsibilities of hoteliers and their employees under anti-discrimination law. HOW TO USE THIS CD-ROM This CD contains a presentation which can be viewed on a standard PC with a CD-Rom drive (Windows & Macintosh). To view the main presentation open Windows Explorer or My Computer and browse to the CD Drive. Double click on the file called 'Hoteliers_Guidelines.pdf'. If you are using a Macintosh open the CD icon on your desktop and then double click on the 'Hoteliers_Guidelines.pdf'icon. To view the presentation you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader (v5.0 or higher). On most modern computers Adobe Acrobat will already be installed. If not, you can download a free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader from http://www.adobe.com/acrobat . If you have difficulty viewing the main presentation, a text version of the Guidelines is available in the 'guidelines_text' folder on the CD-Rom. The CD also contains sample Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and harassment Policies which are intended to be amended to suit the needs of individual hotels. You can access these documents by clicking on the links in the main presentation or by opening the sample_policies folder on the CD. There are also discrimination complaint forms on the CD. You can access these from the main presentation by going to the 'How to handle a complaint' section or by opening the 'Complaint_forms' folder on the CD. HOW TO USE THE 'GUIDELINES FOR HOTELIERS' PRESENTATION A number of features have been included in the main presentation to make it easy to use. SECTIONS The presentation is divided into twelve sections. To view a section click on the section title in the contents panel on the left of the presentation. Some sections have more than one page. To go to the next page of the section click on the 'Next' button at the top of the page or click on the 'continued next page' link at the bottom of the page. You can also move between pages at any time by using the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard. NAVIGATION BUTTONS At the top of each page there are a series of navigation buttons. SEARCH: Click on this button if you want to search for a particular word or phrase within the guidelines. PRINT FRIENDLY: Click on this button if you wish to print a version of the guidelines that is optimised for printing. HELP: Click on this button to open the file containing these instructions. QUIT: Click on this button if you wish to exit the presentation and quit Acrobat Reader. If you want to minimise the presentation click on the Esc key on your keyboard. BACK: Click on this button to go to the previous page. NEXT: Click on this button to go to the next page.
