Stepan Kerkyasharian AM
Stepan Kerkyasharian AM became the President of the Anti-Discrimination Board on 15 September 2003. He also continues to be the Chair and the Chief Executive Officer of the Community Relations Commission for a Multicultural New South Wales.
Mr Kerkyasharian was appointed as the Chair of the Ethnic Affairs Commission of New South Wales in 1989, and this became the Community Relations Commission for a Multicultural NSW in March 2001. He became a Member of the Order of Australia in 1992 and received the Gold Cross in the Order of Merit of Poland in 1990. In 1995 he was made a Fellow of the University of Technology Sydney. In September 2000 the International Olympic Committee conferred the Olympic Order upon Mr Kerkyasharian.
In June 2007 he was made Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) by the University of Sydney.
