How to order a transcript
All transcript requests (for daily and back-order transcript) are processed via the Supreme Court registry on Level 5 of the Law Courts Building.
You will need to complete the following steps:
1. Complete a Transcript Order Form (Microsoft Word format | PDF format) and pay a deposit at the cashier's desk on Level 5 of the Supreme Court registry (opening hours are 9.00 am - 5.00 pm Monday-Friday). If you are unable to pay the deposit, you will need to complete an application form for fee postponement or waiver.
2. You will be contacted by the registry once the transcript has been prepared and you will be issued with an invoice for any balance payment owing. The transcript will not be released until the balance of fees are paid.
3. Upon receipt of final payment, transcript can be collected in person, posted or emailed. An emailed transcript will be provided in Word 2000 format.
Daily transcripts
- Parties can only set up a daily transcript service if the presiding judicial officer has previously requested a daily transcript. The transcript clerk will confirm this for you and let you know if a daily transcript is available in your proceedings.
- Requests for Daily Transcripts from parties must be received by the registry by 2.00pm, application and method of payment must accompany request.
- By ordering a daily transcript, you or your company are agreeing to receive transcript for each day of the trial/hearing. You or your company will be liable for the cost of this continual supply throughout the trial/hearing. Should you decide at any time that you no longer wish to receive a daily transcript, please email sco_transcriptsales@agd.nsw.gov.au to make other arrangements. Your request should include the name of the presiding officer, the parties’ names (eg Smith v Jones) and the Matter Number as stated by the court as reference.
- Same-day supply of daily transcript is subject to court sittings finishing no later than 4.00pm. If the court sits later than 4.00pm, the transcript will not be available until the next working day.
