About LawAssist
LawAssist is a website provided by LawAccess NSW. The LawAssist website is designed to help people who are dealing with legal problems in New South Wales, without a lawyer. LawAssist provides helpful information on specific areas of law and the legal process.
The resources available at LawAssist include:

LawAssist also provides information about fees and other legal costs, as well as information about options for dealing with your legal problem without going to court.

How to use this site
The LawAssist site has two navigation bars at the top of each page. The dark blue bar at the top links to six sections. These sections are:
Representing yourself
'Representing yourself' contains information on legal topics. These topics are listed in the light blue navigation bar:
'What you should know’ links to general information on the law.
The other topics cover specific types of legal cases. Each topic has practical legal information to help you with your case as well as sample documents and court forms. When you click on a topic, the different parts of the topic appear on the left hand side of the page.
Legal Dictionary
The legal dictionary explains legal words and phrases.
Need more help?
'Need more help?' gives you information on how to find legal information, advice and representation. It also gives you information on other useful non-legal services. For example, financial counsellors.
About LawAssist
'About LawAssist' tells you all about LawAssist and how to use this site.
Contact us
'Contact us' gives information on contacting LawAccess NSW for legal information and referrals, and also how to give us feedback on this site.
Search
'Search' allows you to search this site for a word or phrase.
