LawAccess NSW is the first operational implementation of the Justice Sector Metadata Standard. The service is designed to provide easy access to quality plain language legal resources and legal assistance services from across the legal sector.
The standard is an initiative of the Department of Justice & Attorney General, in collaboration with a range of public, community and industry sector organisations including the Law and Justice Foundation, Law Society of NSW, Legal Aid NSW, Legal Information Access Centre (LIAC), NSW Fair Trading, NSW Industrial Relations and the Tenants Union.
The initial trial project was funded by grant under the connect.nsw scheme by the Office of Information Technology.
LawAccess Online is funded by the Department of Justice & Attorney General and Public Purpose Fund of NSW.
