District/Supreme Court Trials
Legal aid is available for District and Supreme Court trials:
  • For any one trial assigned to a private practitioner the Commission will not pay any amount in excess of $50,000 with an additional $25,000 for each co-accused. Allocation of funding between defendants is determined by the Commission.
  • A grant of legal aid for a trial does not extend to the obtaining of transcripts during the trial.
A grant of aid is subject to Means Test A and State Criminal Law Guidelines.
