Human Rights Medal and Awards
The Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission established the
Australian Human Rights Medal and Awards in 1987 to recognise those
individuals and organisations that have made a significant contribution to
the promotion and protection of human rights and equal opportunity in
Australia. To be eligible to enter the Law Category, which is sponsored by
the Law Council of Australia, the nominee must be an individual or
organisation with a proven track record in the promotion and advancement of
human rights in Australia through the practice of law. Click on the graphic below
