Duty Solicitor - Client Contributions

No contribution is payable for duty appearances.

A contribution of $75 is to be levied on defendants in all adult criminal defended matters (Local Court hearings). A client contribution is not levied on applicants for Apprehended Violence Orders or children appearing in the Children’s Court. The Commission can waive the contribution only where payment would cause special hardship or is impractical (such as where the client is in custody).
