Divorce Classes Having trouble with your divorce application? Legal Aid can help Family lawyers at Legal Aid's head office in Haymarket, Sydney, as well as Manly, Sutherland and Penrith offices are now presenting free divorce classes. The classes are aimed at self represented people who cannot afford a private solicitor or who wish to manage their own application for divorce. The do-it-yourself classes only cover divorce proceedings (dissolving of the marriage) and do not include matters relating to children or property settlement. You should seek legal advice from a lawyer for these kinds of family law matters. The two-hour divorce classes provided by Legal Aid cover: How do I book? Phone bookings are essential for our divorce classes. Interpreters will be booked free of charge for non-English speakers. Requests for interpreters must be made at the time of booking. Please bring along the relevant divorce application form (either the Children Under 18 or the No Children Under 18 form). You can obtain a divorce application form (also known as a "Form 4") by ringing your nearest Family Court registry (see below) and arranging for it to be sent to you.
