Review of Award pursuant to Section 19 of the Industrial Relations Act 1996.

REVIEWED AWARD
1. Delete the
words "Department of Education" in clause 2, Definitions of the award
published 2 November 2001 (329 I.G. 131) and insert in lieu thereof the
following:
"appropriate education department in the State".
2. Delete the words "educational
accreditation committee" from paragraph (ii) of subclause (c) of clause 3,
Classifications and insert in lieu thereof the following:
"Industrial Consultative and Accreditation
Committee as provided for in paragraph (ii) of subclause (d) of this
clause".
3. Delete
subclause (i) of clause 7, Junior Employees and insert in lieu thereof the
following:
(i) Junior
employees under 18 years of age shall be properly supervised at all times.
4. Delete the
word "his" from subclause (v) of clause 21, Shift Work and insert in
lieu thereof the following:
"The employer's"
5. Delete
subclause (iii) of clause 22, Overtime (Day Workers) and insert in lieu thereof
the following:
(iii) An employee shall
work reasonable overtime as directed by his/her employer.
6. Delete the
words "consideration to" from subclause (v) of clause 32, Bereavement
Leave and insert in lieu thereof the following:
"consider".
7. Insert after
subclause (v) of clause 44, Anti Discrimination the following new subclause:
(vi) NOTES
(a) Employers and
employees may also be subject to Commonwealth anti-discrimination legislation.
Section 56(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 provides:
(b) "Nothing
in the Act affects any other act or practice of a body established to propagate
religion that conforms to the doctrines of the religion or is necessary to
avoid injury to the religions susceptibilities of the adherents to that
religion".
8. The changes
made to the Award pursuant to the Award Review under section 19(6) of the Industrial
Relations Act 1996 and Principle 26 for Review of Awards made by the
Industrial Relations Commission of New South Wales on 18 December 1998 (85 I.R.
38) take effect on and from 1 July 2004.
This Award remains in force until varied or rescinded,
the period for which it was made already having expired.
